As soon as I have my API kit ready, a buildable version of Nestopia will be released with my shell library. Martin Freij has generously agreed to license Nestopia to me under a closed-source license for the present. Nestopia is normally covered by the GNU General Public License. If this feature is important to you, then please let me know by e-mail and I'll see about implementing it. Writing to FDS disks is not supported on the Macintosh at this time, as it is a fair bit of work to do and not something I see the need for. Please do not ask me to send you this file it is copyrighted software. The file "disksys.rom" must be present in the same directory as Nestopia for these to work. Nestopia is fully compatible with Famicom Disk System games in. However, if you have an 800MHz G4 or faster, Nestopia is for you. This does mean that Nestopia is quite a lot slower than other NES emulators (which use scanline or tile based rendering). With this method many games that rely on perfect timing work flawlessly on Nestopia (Mach Rider, Slalom, Marble Madness etc). They all use the "master clock" as a cycle counter base which eliminates the need for decimals altogether.

All The different components are synchronized "as needed" on a clock cycle level, basically meaning that the PPU and pAPU update themselves only if an instruction is going to change the way the PPU render pixels or the pAPU generates sound or else they simply just wait until the end of the frame and then carry on.
